What happens if I don't turn in my homework?

If homework is not turned in, or done correctly, then during academic center
time on Friday afternoons it will be done or redone. Also the student will
not be allowed to participate in Show and Tell after our class meeting on
that day. No other consequences will be given. The reward for doing
homework, besides helping your prepare for the CRCT, is choosing the
academic game or activity of your choice during center time, and being
allowed to have Show and Tell at the end of the day.

What if mom writes a note saying I could not do my homework for some reason?

I will not give you any consequences, but I also will not allow you to have
the reward. Doing and returning homework is your responsibilty. Your parents
are not responsible for making sure it is done, or in your backpack. The
student is responsible totally for this. This is an important part of
growing up.

What are some positive rewards?

Coupons, money for market fair, praise, treats, etc. Good behavior should be
remarked upon and is sometimes rewarded, but often is just recognized and
praised. Adults do not receive rewards for always doing what is right, but
they should also be recognized for responsible behavior. You should be proud
of yourself for doing the right thing. A reward is a benefit but is not
required!

What are some things you really dislike as a teacher?

I will not tolerate making fun of others for any reason. I also do not like
and will not allow disrespect. You should always be respectful to adults in
your tone of voice, your facial expressions, and in the way you conduct
yourself. This respect should be given to your fellow students as well. I
also do not allow laughing at people when they mess up or make a
mistake. Mistakes are wonderful. We often learn a lot when we make errors.
We all make them, and we will look at mistakes as opportunities for learing.
