Parents,
The book fair will be coming to our school between November 16-20, and
on Tuesday, November 17 it will remain open until 6:00 P.M. We will have each
guest to the Book Fair put their name in a daily drawing for a free book
($10.00 or less). In addition, the teacher from each grade level with the
most visitors at the end of the week will get to make a book selection from
the fair. Proceeds from the Book Fair help support the purchase of new books
for our Media Center. We greatly appreciate your support.

Parents please take note - from this point on, if your child is riding a
different bus you must fill out a bus pass and they must have it
signed by the office for this to take place. You will find the form on the
fourth grade blog. Let me know if you need a copy for home.

Please join us for Frey's Thanksgiving Feast in the cafe this week. Also we
are putting together Thanksgiving Dinner Baskets. If you could send in your
item it would be grealty appreciated by a needy family.

Our academic focus:

Math - We are working on division with plenty of models. Continue to log on
to "First In Math" to practice computation. We continue with our Math
Mastery program. Ask your child what "level" they are on!

Spelling/English- We will start Sort 7 words. In English, we are
working on nouns. Our supplemental workbooks have arrived and we will use
these for extra practice.

Reading/Writing/Social Studies -We will end our unit with a writing
assignment. Your child will pick one tribe and write a five paragraph essay
Our tribes are the Inuit, Kwakiutl, Nez Perce, Hopi, Pawnee and Seminole. We
will use our notes as reference. If needed we have our Soical Studies book
and a Native American Encyclopedia. Our novel study book is Babe. Explorers
unit will begin right after Thanksgiving.

Science: We will continue investigating "Simple Machines."

Have a great week.
Mrs. Nikin
