What time does the school day begin?

Students may enter their classrooms at 7:15. However, the tardy bell does
not ring until 7:50. There is a schoolwide competition called Tardy Busters
and individual classes with no tardies are recognized each month so please
try to make it on time.
It is also important to arrive by 7:30 to give your child time to unpack,
socialize and begin the morning assignments. Morning work is expected to be
completed by 8:10. Otherwise, students will need to finish the assignment
during recess.

What do I do if my child is absent?

Send in a note and remind your child to pick up their makeup work. It is
important that you go over this with your child so that they do not feel
behind. Once your child reaches 5 absences , teachers are required to send a
note home for a parent signature. If your child reaches 10 absences, you
will receive a note from the county.

What is the GO Binder?

It is the Get Organized Binder which helps us to effectively communicate
each day. Talk to your third grader about it and remove the items from the
completed work pocket each night. They will need your signature each day on
the behavior points, as well as your initials on the daily agenda where they
are writing their assignmnets. If your child fails to return to school with
the signatures, it will result in the loss of a card on our behavior
system. A detailed note about the GO Binder is located on the front of each
child's notebook.

Does my child have a reading log and will we participate in AR?

Yes, it is on the back of their behavior calendar and is due on the last day
of the month. Each student is expected to take and pass 2 AR books a month
on their level.
