* I am the proud mother of 2 beautiful children!!! Hunter is 6 and Savannah
is 2.
* I knew I wanted to be a teacher at a very young age. I often played
school with my dolls.
* My favorite T.V. shows are General Hospital, Reba, Deadliest Catch and
Extreme Makeover.
* My wonderful husband does the cooking for our family! Unfortunately, I am
not the best cook in town!
* My brother lives 2 houses away from me and my grandmother lives in my
neighborhood. We are a very close family!!
* I am a HUGE animal lover. I often feed the strays in the neighborhood and
my husband gets a little upset. Sometimes I hide the food behind the bushes!
Even the neighbor's dog runs away to my house because he knows I'll give
him Milkbones.
* My favorite restaurants are Sapporos and Aspens! Yummy!
* My husband and I met 12 years ago and have been married for 9 years.
* Randy is a huge Penn State fan. Therefore our dog is named Joe Paterno!!
* I have 2 cats. 1 in which I found and raised from a bottle named Taz. The
newest member, Jerry, was a gift from a student's family.
* My husband gave me a sugar glider when we first began dating. I use to
put him in my shirt pocket and take him for walks.
* I share the same birthday as Mickey Mouse ( November 18).
I believe children learn best through hands-on experiences. Children need to
participate and use their five senses to absorb knowledge comletely.
Learning should be fun. Children should not sit at their desks and do book
work all day. They are young and active and should therefore be active
learners in the classroom. It is important for children to know how the
skills and concepts being taught can be used later on in their lives.
Teachers play a big role in their students lives. It is important for a
teacher to act in ways she wants her students to act. Teaching is a 7 day a
week job. The job does not stop at 3:00. Teachers are leaders in the eyes of
their students. They are trusted and respected. Therefore, a teacher should
always be positive, open minded, sincere and caring.
I want my students to feel comfortable in the classroom and know that it is
okay to make mistakes, as long as they learn from those mistakes. I want my
students to apply their knowledge with projects, class discussions and
cooperative learning groups. I encourage my students through positive
reinforcement. "To teach is to touch a life forever", and that is my goal.
