For scholarship information go to www.ccga.edu, click on Prospecive Students, click on Admissions, then on Scholarships to get to the Foundation Scholarship information and applicatrion.Georgia Farm Bureau ScholarshipTen scholarships awarded to students planning to pursue a major in Family and Consumer Science, Environmental Science, Agriculture or a related field. Students applying must have a parent or guardian who is a member of the Georgia Farm Bureau. Scholarships may be donwloaded at www.gfb.org; select GFB Programs and then Ag in the Classroom. All entries must be postmarked by January 30, 2010.September 23, 2009NATIONAL SCHOLARSHIPSAl Neuharth Free Spirit Scholarship and ConferenceCollege scholarships to high school seniors who are interested in pursuing a career in journalism. Selected students are invited to a conference in Washington, D.C in March where they meet prominent media professionals and receive their awards. To apply go to: www.freedomforum.org/freespirit. Application deadline: October 15.Elks National FoundationCome by the Counseling Office to pick up an application for the Elks Club 2010 Most Valuable Student Scholarship You may also download the application at: www.elks.org/enf/scholars. Five hundred scholarships will be awarded. Due to Ms. Votsis by October 26.Prudential Spirit of Community AwardIf you've made a difference by volunteering in your community over the past year, you could win $1000 and a trip to Washington, D.C. next May. The awards are sponsored by Prudential Financial and the National Association of Secondary School Principals. Visit: http://spirit.prudential.com or www.principals.org/prudential, click on the "How to Apply" link and follow the onscreen instructions. When asked for the access code, type the word spirit. Print the completed application and turn it in to the Counseling Office. Schools may submit one student per school. Ten state honorees are awarded an additional $5000 and are named America's Top Ten Youth Volunteers of the Year. Applications are due in the Counseling Office by: November 1.Quest Bridge National College MatchQuest Bridge pairs outstanding low-income students with early admission and full four-year scholarships to top-ranked colleges. Scholarships cover tuition, room, and board, worth up to $200,000. The Quest Bridge application is free of charge and is available at: www.questbridge.org. Application deadline: September 30.Veterans of Foreign Wars Voice of Democracy ProgramEssay contest open to students in grades 9-12. This year's theme is: Does America Still Have Heroes. September 9, 2009Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce 2009-2010 Youth Leadership GlynnLeadership Glynn, sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce is a program designed to educate students on community issues and introduce them to businesses and leaders in Glynn County. Students attend seven sessions beginning in October and ending in May. Most sessions begin around 2:00 p.m. and end around 5:00 p.m. Absences from school are excused.Applications are available in the Counseling Office for an opportunity to participate in the Leadership Glynn Program. Only seven applicants will be slected.
