INTERCESSION - what it is and how it works...(credit recovery for first
9 week failed classes!)
What is available for Freshmen?

1. Intercession is a credit replacement program for students who failed
classes 1st 9 weeks. If a student has a failing average,they can replace
that failing grade with a grade no higher than a 70 after successfully
completing the requirements of intercession.
2. Students may pick up a registration form and a brochure with all
information about intercession in the GA guidance counseling office
beginning on Friday, October 23. (freshman, come to Mrs. Belechak's office in
Sidney Lanier Building)
3. Registration will begin on Friday, October 23 and close on Thursday,
October 29, 2009. Students may register before school, during lunch, or
after school in Mrs. Drew's office or in Mrs. Belechak's office. There will
not be any registration offered
after October 29, 2009 . Monday classes begin on 11/2 and Tuesday classes
begin on 11/3.
4. When a student registers for Intercession, he/she must have the
following items with them in order to register:
a. A completed registration form
b. Cash, cashier’s check, or a money order ( payable to Glynn
County Schools) for $90.00 per class. Personal checks will NOT be
accepted.
c. A copy of their 1st semester report card
5. Students need to understand that attendance for all intercession classes
is mandatory and the registration fee is non-refundable unless the class does
not meet the minimum enrollment of 8 students.
6. Students are expected to attend 24 hours of class with the intercession
teacher, and complete all tests, quizzes, and assignments. After the
successful completion of intercession, a student’s failing grade will be
converted to a grade between of 70.
