Expectations/Rules

GENERAL PE AND HEALTH RULES:

1.  Students are required to dress properly for P.E. class.  
    Dress out clothes must be clothes other than what is worn to school.  
    Dress out clothes may include shorts, t-shirt, socks, and tennis shoes
    and/or for cold weather, a sweat suit, light sweater or jacket.  No bulky
    clothes.  PLEASE WRITE THE STUDENT'S NAME INSIDE THE CLOTHING AND
    SHOES!!!!! 
    
2.  Students who do not dress out or dress improperly will not be allowed to
    participate in the daily activity.  These students are required to
    complete academic sportfolio assignments.
  
3.  Students are issued a gym locker.  Students need to keep their locker
    combination CONFIDENTIAL and use only the locker that they are assigned.
    Do not cram bookbags or large items into the lockers.  Lock up ONLY 
    clothes and valuables in the lockers.  Do not wear jewelry to class.

4.  Students are given 5 minutes to change their clothes at the beginning and
    end of the period.  After dressing out, students should report directly 
    to their designated roll call line spot and sit down.  Students who are
    not in roll call line will be counted tardy.  Once students come out to
    roll call line, they are not allowed to re-enter the locker room until
    the end of the period. If students are late for class, they must report
    to their P.E. teacher before entering the locker room. Tardy students 
    must have a written excuse.  
  
5.  Students are graded on: 
         a.  Dressing out
         b.  Participation
         c.  Test grades
         d.  *** Health 
    ***Students are required to take health during P.E. 
       The health grade will be averaged in with the P.E. grade.  
       Health will count one-third of the 9-weeks grade and P.E. will count
       two-thirds of the 9-weeks grade. 

6.  Students will lose 5 points every time they are not sitting in roll call
    line, do not dress out, or do not participate.
  
7.  Not Dressing/Not Participating
       OFFENSE			  CONSEQUENCE
        1ST			  -5 POINTS
        2ND			  -5 POINTS
        3RD			  -5 POINTS
        4TH			  -5 POINTS 
        5TH			  -5 POINTS AND VERBAL WARNING 
        6TH 			  -5 POINTS, AND PHONE CALL TO PARENTS
        7TH			  -5 POINTS, DISCIPLINE REFERRAL, 
                                   DETENTION
        8TH			  -5 POINTS, REFERRAL TO THE 
                                   OFFICE                              
     
8.  **Students must have a written excuse from their guardians in order to
    be excused from dressing out or participating.
  
9.  **If students need to be excused from dressing out/participating for
    more than 3 days, a DOCTOR'S EXCUSE is required.

10. Students should report all injuries to their P.E. teacher immediately.
    Injuries will then be reported to the office and parents will be notified
    if it is an emergency.

11. Supplies for Health
       Notebook (folder with 3 brads and looseleaf paper)
       Pen or pencil
       6th Grade-GREAT workbook
     
12. Students are expected to complete all Health and P.E. assignments or 
    tests missed due to an absence.  Students will be given 3 days to
    complete any missed assignment or test.
