2. Engaging conclusion
3. Each paragraph has a main idea with appropriate supporting details
4. Avoids clutter and/or echo
5. Appropriate transitions
6. Fabulous language
7. Appropriate comma and semi-colon use
8. Essay makes sense and is interesting
9. Includes and labels 2 simple sentences, 2 compound sentences, and 2 
complex sentences
10.5 paragraphs

Speeches will be on May 15th, 16th, 19th, and 20th.  There will not be any 
make-up days, and this is a test grade!  Make sure your speech has been
