Science Current Event Template

This is a template. Please do not write on this. Keep this in your notebook.

Find a current article that deals with an Earth Science Topic that we are studying. You may search the internet, but when doing so make sure you have clicked on News while searching.  You can also use newspapers and magazines. Your article must be current (no more than a month old). The article you choose must be a minimum of three paragraphs.

 

Please attach the article and/or include a reference section when turning in your current event.

Please answer these questions on your own paper after reading the article. You must write a minimum of three sentences per question.

 

1. Summarize the article in your own words. What is the main point? What happened? Do not copy any sentences from the article.  (minimum 5 sentences)

 

2. Why do you feel this article is important for other’s to read?  (minimum 2 reasons)

 

3. Write down some more (3) questions you would like answered on this topic.

 

4. Define 3 Earth Science words from this article. 

 

For 5 extra points….

5. Find the answers to your questions from number 3 and record your answers and references.
