Reading Logs

A copy of the Reading Log is posted on the Powerpoints and Docs page.

Students will be required to turn in a reading log every two weeks during 
the school year.  

Each reading log will document 200 minutes of independent 
reading.  You may read newspapers or magazines, but the majority of 
your reading should be a middle-school level novel or nonfiction book.  
Occasionally, instead of a reading log, you will be assigned an alternate 
activity such as a vocabulary log or book report.

Tuesday, May 13 (bonus for those students missing a log this nine weeks)
 
PLEASE DO NOT TURN IN A LOG WITH ONLY A TOTAL.  It is important that you 
document your reading and develop regular reading habits.  When you read in 
class, after a quiz, in the car, or on the bus, be sure to write it down!

Reading logs documenting 200 minutes of reading will each carry a score of 
100!  Students not turning in reading logs or activities will receive a 0. 
Logs improperly filled out (no breakdown of schedule) will receive a 75.  A 
downloadable copy of the reading log is available on the Powerpoint and Docs 
page.
