About The Teacher

This is MY sixth-grade school picture!

I am a second-career teacher, entering education after many years as a 
writer in the radio, newspaper, marketing, and public relations industries.

I have lived in Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, and Virginia.  Previously to 
joining Greenbrier Middle School, I taught at Riverside Middle School in 
Evans and at Jasper County Middle School, Monticello, Georgia.

My undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from Ohio State 
University.  Go Buckeyes!  I also have a Master of Education degree with 
Reading Endorsement from Georgia College and State University in 
Milledgeville.

My husband, Randy, and I have two children.  Michael is a junior at 
Greenbrier High School; Holly is a freshman at Augusta State University. We 
have two cats, a double-stuffed Oreo and an orange furball named Sugar Bee. 
Penny, my beloved 15-year-old golden retriever, passed away in July.  We're 
not ready for a new puppy right now.  Perhaps sometime this year!
