This year, I will teach 7th and 8th grade Horizon Language Arts. I have been teaching language arts for over twenty years, and I have the following degrees: A.A. Education; B.S. Education; M.A. Curriculum and Instruction; and an Ed.S. in Education Leadership. Also, I assist with the 8th grade National Junior Honor Society and the Academic Bowl team, and sponsor the Duke Tip Talent Search, the speech contest, and several writing contests.
My husband is retired, and we have two children and two grandchildren. Jenny is an eye tech for an optomologist and has two children. This year, my son Phillip is deployed as a 1st Lieutenent in the Army deployed in the Mideast, and he also has two children. I love to be with my family, to read, to garden, to watch birds, and to take long walks. One of my passions, of course, is teaching!
