Language Arts vocabulary for the 3rd nine weeks will be set up differently. To help prepare for the CRCT we will be using core curriculum words from each subject as our vocabulary words. There will be a series of activities to complete throughout the nine weeks. We will dedicate SOME class time to each of these activities, but the majority of the work needs to be completed at home.

Activity One:
Choose a group of words.
Define each word in the group.
Give an example of each word.
Give a non-example of each word.
You will be given paper with the forms to use for this assignment.

Activity Two:
Choose another group of words.
Create a test using all the vocabulary words in the group.
The test should include a mixture of matching, fill in the blank, multiple choice, and short answer questions.
Attach a key to the test.
This is due: Wednesday, February 29
Activity Three:
Choose another group of words.
Create a children's dictionary explaining all the vocabulary words and concepts in the group. You must include a picture representation of the word or phrase. It must be in color. This book needs to be completed on plain 8½ X 11 sheets of paper.
In order to receive credit, this project needs to show a SIGNIFICANT amount of effort.

Activity Four:
You should have one group of vocabulary words left.
Choose one of the following assignments to complete with the last group.
· Create a poster explaining all the words and concepts in the group. You may use pictures, diagrams, drawings, and/or examples to do this. You may divide the poster into a maximum of 6 sections if needed. You will need more than one poster to complete this project. Be creative AND neat when completing the poster.
· Create a PowerPoint presentation explaining all the words and concepts in the group. You may use pictures, diagrams, and/or examples to do this. Your slide show may be saved on a flash drive or emailed to me when it is complete. If you choose to do this project, it will need to be completed at home.
