I plan and teach my lessons using themes.  Themes present academic 
concepts in a fun, child-focused context.  The language arts and 
mathematics goals remain the same each year because they correlate 
with the Georgia Performance Standards.  My specific themes change 
some every year depending on the particular needs and interests of 
each class. 
*Please note that the following themes for each month will definitely 
change some as our year progresses. The themes below are from the 
2008-2009 school year; however, they will give you a general idea of 
the kinds of activities we typically do in our classroom. Please 
check back and you'll see how the following themes change for 
the 2009-2010 school year!
