Room Parent If you would like to be a room parent, please let me know. Kids love having their parents involved as room parents, and it’s a nice opportunity for you to get to know your child’s teacher, classmates and other parents. Thank you for taking on the responsibility of room parent. The children and I appreciate your extra time and effort. If you want to be room parent all you would need to do is volunteer your time and help in our classroom when needed.Listed below are some areas I may need your help in. Volunteering to go on field trips (I understand that you may not be able to attend all field trips) Helping out with parties and special activities (crafts, Easter egg hunts) Helping plan and/or supply items and volunteer for special events Thank you for your help. The Good citizen for the first nine weeks is: The Good citizen for the second nine weeks is: The Good citizen for the third nine weeks is: The Good citizen for the fourth nine weeks is: For those of you who have children that love Chuck E. Cheese, I have some good news. Chuck E. Cheese gives up to 15 free tokens for good grades on report cards. Have your child take his/her report card with him. More information can be found at the following link: http://www.chuckecheese.com/promotions/tokens.php Please feel free to bring a small pillow or blanket that can fit in your child's backpack for rest time. The children do not lay on cots but rest their heads on their desks for 45 minutes with the lights off and soft music playing. Please practice the sight words at home with your child. I call on the children randomly each morning.I need you to reinforce what I am teaching at home. This way if they are not picking up the words at school, you can provide the extra practice they may need. Read the Johnson Journal that comes out each Monday. It will have important information from the principal and us.
