school's main phone line and use extension 583 if you'd prefer to leave me a
voice message.

you can register.

Will my child have homework every night?

Your student will have homework most nights. I do not assign homework after a
major exam.

Do you offer extra credit?

Technically, I do not. It is against my personal philosophy to offer
traditional extra credit, and it is also against departmental policy.
However, students can earn points on major tests by completing study problems
or by attempting challenge problems on certain exams.

Does my child really need a graphing calculator for Algebra III?

All of the problems I assign can be worked by hand and/or by using a
scientific calculator. However, many of the problems can be done more quickly
and more easily using a graphing calculator. While certain brands of
calculators might be less expensive than Texas Instruments, TI calculators are
more widely used and have easy to learn keystrokes and programs. If your
child is planning on attending college, the graphing calculator will be a good
investment for math and science classes in the future. If you would rather
not purchase a graphing calculator but would like your child to have the
benefit of one, the math department does have a limited number of TI-83s
available for rental on a first come, first served basis. The rental fee for
one semester is $20.
