What if I am absent on the day an assignment (ie: lab report) is due?

If you have an excused absence on the day an assignment is due, your work
must be turned in at the beginning of the next class you attend. Please note
that projects are due "no later than" a specific date and students are
encouraged to turn projects in prior to this date. Accordingly, being absent
on the day a project is due will result in a grade of "0" (if the project
has not been turned in).

Can I exempt the final test in freshman Biology?

No. The EOCT (end of course test) is administered approximately 16 or 17
weeks into the course and is a GA state cumulative Biology exam that will
count towards 15% of your final grade (all students must take this test).
However, there will be an assessment on the Final Exam day that will
encompass material covered after the EOCT. All students must also take this
test (it will be weighted equally with other tests).

What is a summary response?

A summary response is an academic exercise that asks you to summarize the
main points (or important section) of an essay, chapter, or book, then to
analyze (or respond to) that same piece, perhaps focusing on one point in
particular.
You will want your clear and concise summary to be accurate yet brief, and
you'll want your second section, the longer response part, to be critical,
supported by text, sometimes specifically quoted, and thoughtful. This
second
section can be exploratory, theoretical, even pedagogical in some cases, but
most of all, this section should be yours: your idea, your reading of the
text. It should be conversational in tone. Your peer readers and I
want to see just what unique read or comparison that you are able to make;
for that reason, you'll want to be sure that your point/argument is out
there—loud and clear. In fact, you may well want to jump in and begin the
response (second) section with your point before elaborating your support.
