Will Dr. Jezequel accept late work? No (refer to syllabus). What if I am absent on the day an assignment (ie: lab report) is due? If you have an excused absence on the day an assignment is due, your work must be turned in at the beginning of the next class you attend. Please note that projects are due "no later than" a specific date and students are encouraged to turn projects in prior to this date. Accordingly, being absent on the day a project is due will result in a grade of "0" (if the project has not been turned in). What if I am absent on the day a project is due? My personal email account is drjez@yahoo.com Can I exempt the Honors Anatomy/Physiology final exam? No. This is an honors class; the final examination is worth 15% of your grade. Can I exempt the final test in freshman Biology? No. The EOCT (end of course test) is administered approximately 16 or 17 weeks into the course and is a GA state cumulative Biology exam that will count towards 15% of your final grade (all students must take this test). However, there will be an assessment on the Final Exam day that will encompass material covered after the EOCT. All students must also take this test (it will be weighted equally with other tests). Stiff Group A: 9262990S68 Stiff Group B: 926299ZS74 A summary response is an academic exercise that asks you to summarize the main points (or important section) of an essay, chapter, or book, then to analyze (or respond to) that same piece, perhaps focusing on one point in particular. You will want your clear and concise summary to be accurate yet brief, and you'll want your second section, the longer response part, to be critical, supported by text, sometimes specifically quoted, and thoughtful. This second section can be exploratory, theoretical, even pedagogical in some cases, but most of all, this section should be yours: your idea, your reading of the text. It should be conversational in tone. Your peer readers and I want to see just what unique read or comparison that you are able to make; for that reason, you'll want to be sure that your point/argument is out there�loud and clear. In fact, you may well want to jump in and begin the response (second) section with your point before elaborating your support. Can I exempt the final exam in Honors Biology II? There will be a designated morning before school when interested students may come in and review their exams. AP Psychology Test Correction Policy 1. Students will have a maximum of 5 school days after grades are posted to come in and review their scantrons. 2. Unless otherwise announced, test correction sessions will be held from 7:15-8:00 am. 3. Scantron and test must be checked out with Dr. J and may NOT leave the room under any circumstances. 4. Scantron and test MUST be checked back in with Dr. J before leaving the room. 5. Students are reminded that, as all questions are pulled from a national database, the content of questions and answers is NOT up for debate. 6. For questions that students answered incorrectly: Students will write out the complete question followed by the complete correct answer (correlational questions must list all possible choices; the correct choice will then be circled). 7. Students will then justify/explain why the answer is correct. 8. Students will also reference their explanation to a page in the text book. 9. Students have the option of completing this optional assignment in the back of their vocab notebook, or purchasing a separate composition notebook for this exclusive purpose. 10. Students who complete this assignment within the 1 week time frame will earn ½ the credit added to their original test grade. 11. The “test correction” option is NOT available for midterm or final examinations. |
