AP Psychology

Students and parents are reminded that AP Psychology is a college level course
in both content and context, and should be approached accordingly. 

8-10:Print syllabus, return last page signed by you & parent
    Purchase supplies (buy a basic 4-pack of play-doh!, I forgot to tell you  
    this in class!)
    Anything you can bring in from the Wish List?
    Study concepts gone over in class
    Register at textbook site
8-12: read Prologue & ch 1 by Wed, 8-19. Vocab from these sections due no 
later than the morning of Test #1 (tentatively scheduled for Friday, 8-21)
8-13: complete thoughts (1-2 sentences) on how the different perspectives 
might explain the enraged driver's reactions to being cut off
8-14: complete on-line quiz (prologue)...this is NOT for a percentage grade; 
it will be recorded as "completion" (or not!); I need to test this new system!
8-17: complete BOTH ch 1 online quizzes no later than midnight Wednesday. 
These grades will be recorded for accuracty. Reminder: bonus vocab due no 
later than Friday morning; Exam #1 Friday (Prologue & Ch 1: history of 
Psych/Research methods/Critical thinking
8-20: Remember #2 pencil tomorrow; Prologue/ch 1 vocab due no later than 
prior to exam; our next unit will cover chapters 2,3,5,6 (for those who 
choose to get started on the next series of vocab terms)
8-24: GET PLAY-DOH!! needed for lab this week!
8-26: The next unit test will cover material from ch 2,3,5,6. Accordingly, 
the vocabulary from these units must be defined in your vocab composition 
notebook. These terms are due no later than the morning of the next exam. If 
completed in their entirety a bonus of 5 points will be added to the Unit 2 
exam grade.
8-28: 
*Complete online chapter 2 quizzes (both #1 & #2) no later than Sunday 
evening midnight (8-30). 
*Be sure you've completed the "temperament survey" handed out in Friday's 
class before Monday morning. 
*Gentle reminder: it is understood (I hope!) that you are expected to read 
your text as we progress through each chapter/subject in the book. 
*Vocab bonus points will be awarded for ch 2,3,5,6; test will be sometime 
during the week of Labor Day (specific date tbd)
*AP exam money will be collected on Friday, Sept 4 ($20 for the first exam, 
$86 for each subsequent exam)
9-1: complete HO 3-10, Read scenarios in HO 3-7 (be prepared to discuss)
9-4:*complete handout distributed in class
    * take ch 3 online quizzes (both 1 & 2) by Monday night midnight
    * any ideas for class t-shirt
9-8: Test Friday (ch2,3,5,6)
9-10: any student who missed today's exam is expected to come in Monday 
morning at 7:00 to make up the test. Inspired students may begin vocab work 
on the next unit: chapters 4,7,8!
9-15: Lifeline due at beginning of class tomorrow
9-16: watch Zimbardo video #5 (if absent)
9-17: partner open book quiz in class; complete ch 7 fact/fiction before 
class tomorrow ****reminder: the next test covers chapters 4,7,8; can you say 
VOCAB???
9-18: Students who missed class today (due to pep rally or any other reason) 
should be sure to get notes from a TWF; also be sure to check your responses 
to 7-1 F/F
9-21: Test (ch4,7,8) will be some time next week. Please check FAQs for 
details about test correction policy & procedure
9-24: All test corrections for BOTH exam 1 & 2 must be turned in no later 
than Wednesday, September 30; crossword puzzle ch 4/matching ch 7 due tomorrow
9-25: complete ch 7 online quizzes (both!) by Sunday midnight; be sure to 
have completed reinforcement handout
9-29: Reminder: Test (ch 4,7,8) Thursday;
* ALL vocab for ch 4,7,8 due before test; 
*any test corrections for Exam 1 or 2 due BEFORE school tomorrow (for both 
blocks 1 & 2); 
*a packet was handed out today that should be completed by tomorrow night; 
*Ch 8 vocab must be handed in by tomorrow's class (will be graded for 
accuracy); 
*In addition: students must go to the textbook website "psychsim 5 tutorials" 
and complete the segment on "cognitive development" AND "operant conditioning"
10-6: Test correction opportunity will begin tomorrow (Wednesday) at 7:15 am; 
last day = Friday
10-8: complete depiction of Earliest Memory as described in class; last day 
for test corrections is tomorrow (notebooks due no later than BEFORE school 
on Monday
10-12: complete problem solving WS
10-19: test postponed until Thursday (but we will start the next unit 
tomorrow!) Vocab due no later than Thursday morning; students who were absent 
on the day of "The Wild Child" must complete a one page, handwritten summary 
of this case study.
10-23: students who missed the exam must come in Tuesday morning, October 27 
at 7:15 am to take a makeup. Test corrections will begin sometime after all 
students have taken the unit #4 assessment; check this site for the exact date
10-27: Test Corrections will begin tomorrow (Wednesday) at 7:15; all material 
must be returned to Dr. J no later than 8:00 am. Test corrections must be 
done EXACTLY as described in class (see FAQs) to earn back any credit. Test 
Corrections will be available Wed, Thurs, Fri and are due NO LATER than 
Monday, November 2
10-29: Three Theories of Emotion mini-poster due no later than 45 minutes 
into class tomorrow 
11-9: Go to http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes2.asp and take the 
Myers Brigg Personality test. Print (or copy down) your results and bring to 
class! Test postponsed until Thursday. And....."one is a bun, two is a 
shoe..." that's right, T-SHIRT MONEY!!
