| For the week of October 6-10:
Throughout the week, we will be drafting and then typing an essay about the
corrupting influence of power, as shown in the novel we have been reading,
Animal Farm. Students may need to finish parts of their essay at home and
bring them to class the following day to be checked if they do not finish the
work in class. Please check with your student to see how well they are
progressing or email me if you have questions.
We began typing our essays on Thursday and will attempt to finish them
Friday. They will be due no later than Monday, October 13.
For the week of October 13-17:
We will begin reading and discussing Romeo and Juliet this week. Students
will complete a reading guide in class as we read, so please make sure your
student is completing his or hers. It might also be a good idea to review
the reading guide from that day. Students can find Romeo and Juliet online
at this URL, if they do not bring their books home but need to do further
work. http://shakespeare.mit.edu/romeo_juliet/index.html There is a
hyperlink to this at the bottom of our links page.
We will have new vocabulary, taken from Romeo and Juliet, this week; our quiz
will be on Friday, October 17.
