Middle schools use the following matrix to place rising 5th graders into math classes. ITBS is one of the items used in placing your child. This is one of the reasons we ask that your child do his or her best. Cobb County School District Curriculum & Instruction Division Advanced Learning Program Placement Matrix (6th Grade) Middle School Durham Middle School Criteria Iowa Student Name Grade 6 Gifted Student ID School Year 2010-11 Criteria Math Seminar Language Arts Social Studies Science Prev Prev Prev Prev Prev Primary Achievement ITBS Math Total ITBS Language Arts Total ITBS Language Arts Total ITBS Social Studies ITBS Science Supportive Achievement CRCT Math Total ITBS Science ITBS Reading Total ITBS Reading Total ITBS Math Total Total Points By Content Area See Chart Below Seminar Total Language Arts Total Social Studies Total Science Total Student may be placed in Advanced Content classes where they have reached a total of 170 or more points are received in the both categories.
