MRS. MARY CAIN
I am beginning my 17th year at Lewis. During this time, I have worked with
all grade levels and enjoyed them all. This year I am the counselor for the
first, third and fifth grades. I have been with the present 5th grade since
they were in kindergarten. The plan is to "grow up" with the present first
and third graders.
This year we are also fortunate to have an intern from Georgia State
University. Crystal Heim will be working with us for the entire year. She
will be conducting guidance lessons, small groups, and meeting with
individuals under my supervision.
I am a National Board Certified School Counselor with a Specialist of
Education degree in Guidance and Counseling from the State University of West
Georgia.
I am an Atlanta native. I am married and I have three children. Matthew is
a Harrison High School and UGA graduate. He is a pilot with Airtran and his
wife is a teacher at Hayes Elementary. Ashley is a graduate of Harrison High
School, Davidson College, and Medical College of Georgia. She is currently
doing her residency in Tampa. Misty graduated from Kennesaw Mountain High
School and from the University of Tennesee. She is now pursuing her Masters
in School Counseling at the University of West Georgia.
I am available to help the students and parents deal with problems and
concerns. Please call or email me if I can be of help to you.

MRS. MISSY MONSTROLA
This year, I will be serving as the counselor for kindergarten, second, and
fourth grade students. I am a new face here at Lewis and am excited about
getting to know each and every one of my students and families!
On a personal note, I am a Georgia native, but am fairly new to Cobb County.
I received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Agnes Scott College and a
Master of Education in School Counseling from Georgia State University.
Before coming to Lewis, I also attained my National Board Certification in
Counseling. I am married to a wonderful man named Kevin and enjoy spending
time with my family and friends.
As a school counselor, I am here, first and foremost, to help students be
successful. Yes, it is true that this could mean a lot of different things,
but that is one of the many reasons that I love this career that I have
chosen so very much. Throughout the school year, students will participate in
regularly scheduled classroom guidance lessons with me. During these times,
we will be studying lots of interesting and important topics across the three
domains of academic, personal/social, and career development. Specific
information about these lessons can be found on my blog. Some small groups
will be offered throughout the school year that will address these three
areas of development as well. If a student would like to meet with me
individually, they can fill out an appointment request slip located in their
classrooms and outside of my office. There is a mailbox outside of my office
for the students to then turn in their appointment slips, and I will get to
them as soon as possible. They may also let their teachers know if they would
like to see me, and we will arrange a time for that to happen. I am also
available to meet with parents and teachers. If you would like to speak with
me, please feel free to contact me either by phone or through email. My
phone number is 770-975-6673 ext. 228, and my email address is
marie.monstrola@cobbk12.org. Please feel free to contact me with any
questions and let me know if I can be of help to you or your student in any
way!
