We will be working in our Social Studies book as well as additional resources
to learn about the basic elements of geography and social studies. Our focus
will be primarily on the government, economy, culture, and location of
countries.
Our main focus for the first nine weeks was to learn about
the different types of religion, government and economy. Our discussions
focused on how change affects civilization and how the early civilizations
were formed in Mesopotamia. We completed several projects in class as
well as at home. We also had class discussions daily along with group
activities.
Starting with the new nine weeks we will explore the Middle East. We will
focus mainly on Israel, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, as
well as Jordan, and how religion
has impacted each country in the past and the present. We will also look at
governments past and present as well as the culture and economy.
Through our Daily Geography warm up, we will continually review
important map and globe skills. Let's all have an open mind and a positive
attitude, and we will have a GREAT year!
