 Welcome to 2nd Grade
 
  • Students need to read every night.  They are given a weekly leveled reader which they will be assessed on every Friday morning. 


  • Students are also reading library books which are AR (Accelerataed Readers).  They take assessments on these books as well.  We, as a class, have goals and are rewarded weekly for meeting our AR reading goals.


  • Students are also working on their math fact books.  Students are working towards knowing their addition/subtraction facts up to the number 18.  Every student who knows all their facts by December 1st will be taken to McDonald's for a Happy Meal and playtime with Mrs. Schinella.


  • Students are also working on their Dolch word books.  Students who are able to read each of the 11 lists will receive 5 free homework passes to use whenever they don't feel like doing their homework.
