Homework

Homework is assigned daily (Monday-Thursday) and is due the following day. In general, Math is assigned every night and Writing, Reading Comprehension, and Language are assigned once each week. It is your child's responsibility to copy the Homework assignment in the Agenda, complete it, and turn it in first thing the next morning. Homework should take an average of 30 minutes.

In addition to the assigned homework, students are required to read for 20 minutes and practice basic addition and subtraction facts on a nightly basis. Math facts can be practiced orally with flashcards or your child can find several games on our website to help master the facts. This is very important! Knowing the basic addition and subtraction math facts (to 18) is crucial for success in Math.

Please look over your child's homework for completeness and neatness. Let your child know that homework is his/her responsibility--not yours!! Parents are also asked to initial the agenda each day and help students remember to bring their agenda to school.

Thank you for your support!
