This is my 12th year teaching 2nd grade at Manning Oaks! I am an
Atlanta native and grew up in Fulton County Schools. I graduated from the
University of Georgia in 1977 with a Marketing degree and worked as a
Marketing Assistant in Chicago before beginning a family. My teaching career
began at Lake Windward Elementary where I was a kindergarten assistant for
six years. Working with children was something I found very rewarding, so I
decided to return to school and received my certification in Early Childhood
Education from Brenau University. I have been at Manning Oaks since we
opened in 1998.
I have three wonderful children who are now all grown up!! Andrew is 26 and
teaches at Mt. Pisgah Christian School. Stephen is 25 and graduated
from the University of West Georgia with a Marketing degree. He now works for
The Atlanta Braves. Caitlin is 22 and is a student at the University of West
Georgia. She will graduate in December with a degree in Early Childhood
Education and would like to pursue a Masters in Special Education.
Last summer I started a small personalized stationery business and am
very excited about it. My hobbies include reading, scrapbooking, gardening,
and working on this web site! I also love teaching 2nd grade!
