This is my 12th year teaching 2nd grade at Manning Oaks! I am an
Atlanta native and grew up in Fulton County Schools. I graduated from the
University of Georgia in 1977 with a Marketing degree and worked as a
Marketing Assistant in Chicago before beginning a family. My teaching career
began at Lake Windward Elementary where I was a kindergarten assistant for
six years. Working with children was very rewarding to me, so I decided to
return to school and become a teacher! I received my certification in Early
Childhood Education from Brenau University and have been teaching 2nd grade
at Manning Oaks since we opened in 1998.
I have three wonderful children who are now all grown up!! Andrew is 27 and
graduated from the University of Georgia. He teaches high school students at
Mt. Pisgah Christian School. Stephen is 25 and graduated from the University
of West Georgia with a Marketing degree. He works for The Atlanta Braves!
Caitlin is 23 and just graduated in December from the University of West
Georgia. She earned her degree in Early Childhood Education and is looking
for a teaching position. She currently works for John Wieland Homes.
I started a small personalized stationery business two summers ago and am
very excited about it! My hobbies include reading, scrapbooking, gardening,
and working on this web site! I also love teaching 2nd grade!
