My name is Brandy O’Donnell. The 2012-2013 school year will
mark my second year of teaching in the ADAPT program and in
Gwinnett County Public Schools. I consider it a pleasure to be a
part of GCPS and this wonderful family at Monarch School.
I graduated from North Georgia College in 1995, with my
Bachelor’s degree in special education. My first year’s teaching
experience was in DeKalb County where I taught students with
behavior disorders in a resource setting. My experience in
DeKalb County also includes four years of teaching students
with mild and moderate intellectual disabilities at Dunwoody
High School. After relocating to Rhode Island with my family,
I had the pleasure of teaching students with autism and mild
to moderate intellectual disabilities.
I am blessed with five children. My oldest, Haley, is entering
her second year of high school...next come my middle school
boys, Mitchell and Jackson…then there is Lillian, my second
grader and last, but certainly not least, is Peyton, my
kindergartener. Thankful am I for our public schools!!!
It is my mission to guide young adults along a path toward
greater independence. By facilitating application of the necessary tools, our
young adults achieve and maintain a satisfying quality of life through
engagement and taking responsibility in the areas of daily living, community
and vocation.
I believe that true success arises through small victories,
which inevitably open the doors to even greater feats.
I believe that there is always more to learn…and that
fulfillment comes not in always knowing, but in the joys of
discovery and growth.
