Hi,
I hope all of you had a nice and relaxing winter break with your families. We
are happy to be back with your children. I wanted to update you on a few
things so here goes for this week:
Science- We will be discussing the season of Winter and working on different
activities centered on this topic such as making a snowman and writing about
it. We will be discussing the weather that occurs during this season. We will
be having a special Science machine to visit the school on Jan. 15th.
Math- We will be working on calendar skills, oridnal positions, and higher
numbers (writing them and counting them)as well. We are discussing the New
Year during calendar math.
Language Arts- We will be discussing describing words in our writing. We will
be working on beginning capitalization and punctuation in our sentences.
Please continue to work on writing skills with your children in a journal
that can be kept at home in addition to the one at school.We will be working
on blends as well during this time.
Please work with your child on stating his address and phone number. We will
be sure to review our city, state, country, and continent too.
Thanks to everyone that sent in their child's journal from the winter break.
We shared them with the class today and they did a great job.
We will start up again with visiting the library on a weekly basis so please
send in your child's library book so he/she can get a new one.
I will update our calendar for the month as well. Thanks for your time and
