Hi,
Happy Fall to all of you! I wanted to update you on what we are learning
about in the different subject areas:
Math- We are working on two and three dimensional shapes. We are working on
identifying them and giving examples of things in the environment that are
shaped like that. We will be working on various math centers on this topic as
well. The children are doing a great job in math centers. We are working on
becoming more independent.
Social Studies- We are discussing the American symbols such as the statue of
liberty, liberty bell, white house, etc. We will be going into a unit on
Thanksgiving and discussing the story of it. We will be doing many center
activities on this holiday.
The children are doing a great job with the word lists. Thanks for working
with your children on these lists. I will be sending home the next list of
words before too long.
Language Arts- We are working on rhyming words with our big book during
morning group time. The children continue to identify and work on sight words
at this time. We are working on letter sounds and identifying words that
begin with that letter.
Thanks to everyone that has contributed to the Mountain View Foundation as
well as donations to the classroom. We greatly appreciate the support that
