Homework

Here are some suggested at home activities to do with your child:

- visit the IXL website for your child to play some math games to reinforce 
out math standards and what we do in the classroom.

- continue to work on sight word lists.

- practice journal writing to be a good writer which includes spacing between 
words, beginning capitalization, spacing between words, ending punctuation.

- monthly homework calendars

- please have your child read the books that are sent home from literacy 
centers and book in the bag books.

- read every night with your child and discuss characters, setting, author, 
title, beginning, middle and ending of the story. Have your child to retell 
the story.

- individual homework sheets

- help your child to identify some words from blends and digraphs such as br 
(brush, brain), dr (dragon) etc.

- help your child to identify some compound words.

- please review the first 8-10 sight word lists with your child to be sure 
they have a good grasp on these words and go further if possible through the 
summer for first grade.

- Please continue to review the coins and values.
