| Thanks for working with your child this year to help reinforce what we have
learned at school! It is very important to continue to READ, READ, READ over
the summer! Please review sight words from time to time so that your child
does not forget them. (Remember that there are powerpoint slide shows on
this website that your child may use to review sight words.) Also, please
have your child write in a journal (any type of notebook) over the summer so
that writing skills stay sharp. Math skills should be reviewed periodically
also. We will send home a summer homework packet that will help your child
to maintain the skills he/she learned in kindergarten. Please encourage
independence - first grade teachers expect it! Thank you so much for being a
significant partner in your child's education!
