What is DARE? DARE
is a comprehensive program of instruction, taught
by a specially trained officer, that teaches students about the harmful effects
of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs that are commonly abused. It also teaches
students how to make the best choices through the use of a decision-making model,
addresses bullying, positive and negative peer pressure, and goal setting. Deputy Mitchell will be meeting with our fifth grade classes to complete a thirteen week
program of instruction on Wednesday each week, beginning January 11, 2017. One of the requirements to graduate from the DARE program is writing an informational essay about the program. Students will have two weeks to complete the DARE essay. Our scheduled DARE time is 9:00 - 9:50.
This year's DARE graduation is scheduled for Wednesday, May 10, 2017 @ 12:45
