Student Goals and Awards
This year, all third grade students who go above and beyond in the classroom
will have an opportunity to earn an award(s) at the end of the school year.
Achieving these awards will require hard work throughout the entire school
year. Please read the awards and criteria listed below:
Multiplication Math Award (Fluency of multiplication facts 0-12)
Reading Level (Reads and comprehends material above a 3rd grade level)
Fluency (Reads over 120 correct words per minute with grade level material)
Perfect Attendance
Good Citizen Boy and Girl (These will be selected based on our school
lifeskills)
Accelerated Reading (Individual goals – 25 points, 50 points, 75 points)
Most Improved Boy and Girl (Standards-Based Report Card)
Any incomplete class work will become homework. It will be the student’s
responsibility to copy the homework assignment and gather the materials
before leaving school. Your child should study his/her math facts nightly. We
take the timed math test on Tuesday and Thursday. Some students are still
working on the addition and subtraction facts, while others have moved on to
the multiplication facts. The students who learn all of their math facts will
be invited to a banana split party later in the year. Studying math facts
nightly is an essential part of your child’s math ability. The math facts
will be located on our class website under class documents. Students will be
tested weekly on their math facts.
