We have had several problems that have occurred due teachers sending home
children per an email or phone call they received from a parent during the
school day. We can not accept any changes of dismissal from parents through
email or phone calls. If there is a change the parents MUST call the
office. There should be no changes without a note unless there is an
emergency and the office should be notified of this emergency. If we
respond to these changes and then we are out one day and no one receives the
email your child would go home the wrong way.
This Week in Second Grade:
Writing- We have begun working on persuasive writing. Our first piece is "I
want a ___." We are trying to convince our audience to give us something.
Reading- Author's purpose: why did the author write this book? To inform? To
entertain? To persuade?
Grammar- We are working on subjects: simple, complete, compound and
predicates: complete and compound
Math- We are finishing our unit on geometry this week. There will be a test
on Friday March 20th. Look for test review homework coming home this week.
Social Studies- Government: local, state, national, and Jimmy Carter.
