Dear Parents and Students,
Every day the children are learning and making lots of progress toward meeting AKS goals and becoming more proficient in English. We finished up the ACCESS testing and are meeting in small groups again. Many new friends have joined our groups and we are working hard to learn the AKS together and to prepare for the upcoming CRCT. One of the best things about ESOL group is the opportunity to take risks, try using new vocabulary, and knowing that the other students are all learning, too. Some children who are rather quiet in the large setting are able to speak up and be more active in discussions with their peers in ESOL. I see them smiling, laughing, and getting more comfortable with the language. I am very proud of all the progress I am seeing!
Sincerely,
Wendi Lioi
