Positive Behavior Improvement System (PBIS)

Improving student academic and behavior outcomes is about ensuring all students have access to the most effective and accurately implemented instructional and behavioral practices and interventions possible. PBIS is a framework for achieving these outcomes, PBIS is a decision making framework that guides selection, integration, and implementation of the best evidence-based academic and behavioral practices for improving important academic and behavior outcomes for all students. At Peachtree, students are taught the correct behavior for the classroom, cafeteria, hallways, restrooms and the school bus. Students and classes are rewarded with blue, yellow and green tickets for following these guidelines.

  • Each week, 3 students as well as 2 classes from each grade level, and 6 bus riders are recognized for their outstanding work in following our school expectations.

  • We also recognize 36 students (6 per grade level) for excellent behavior in the cafeteria.  These winning classes are pictured on the Peachtree Elementary Wall of Fame, recognized on the Friday afternoon announcements, and receive a small prize.

  • Select students participate in individualized interventions including one-on-one and small group mentoring opportunities.

  • Students will also be receiving positive referrals, opportunities to get caught doing the right thing. Administrators will be calling parents to share this encouraging news throughout the school year.
