How does a student see the Counselor?

Each teacher has a Student Request for Counseling poster with request 
cards.  Students are able to complete the card, which is turned into the 
Counselor.  The student will be seen as soon as possible.  Parents will be 
sent notification that their child was seen by the Counselor.

Can I be sure that what I say to the Counselor no one else will know?

Confidentiality is a serious matter.  Information that is shared in 
counseling remains there.  Confidentiality is broken ONLY when a child 
expresses a desire to harm himself or others.

Are there other ways a student can be seen by the Counselor?

In addition to making a self-referral, parents, teachers, and the 
administration are able to request counseling for an individual or group of 
students.

Can parents see the Counselor?

Parents are welcomed to schedule a conference to speak with the counselor 
about their child.
