I am now in my thirtieth second year of teaching. I have been teaching in
the Columbia County school system for 28 years. I have taught a variety of
grade levels that include fifth, second, first and pre-K. I have also
facilitated a math club in an afterschool program for the elementary grades
K-5.
I received my undergraduate degree from Central Wesleyan College now known
as Southern Wesleyan University in Central, South Carolina and I received a
masters in Elementary Education from the University of Alabama. I have the
Teacher Support Specialist status on my Georgia teaching certificate. I
have received National Certification in 2002. I have been at Riverside
Elementary for ten years and I have taught first grade.
It is my goal to teach each child to the best of my abilities and establish
a plan that ensures positive growth both academically and socially.
The mission for the class is for each student to find treasures in what they
learn.
