How do I contact my child's teacher?
Your child will bring home a daily folder, which is a great
option for classroom communications. Notes and transportation
changes can be sent through this folder, which will be checked
each morning.
Another way to contact me is through email at
nbartig@atlanta.k12.ga.us or a message can be left at the
kindergarten office at 404-256-3317.
What should I do about snack?
Please check the snack calendar that was sent home for the
month. This tells you when it is your child's turn to bring in
our snack bag with some healthy snack choices, including a snack,
drink, and utensils if necessary.
I am asking that parents send in healthy choices for snack.
Please save all cupcakes, cookies, ice cream, etc. for birthday
celebrations. Some healthy suggestions include: granola bars,
fruit, vegetables, crackers, pretzels, yogurt, or cheese. Please
do not send in colored juice boxes, as they could stain the
carpet. Bottled water is a great option for snacks.
What happens if my child changes his/her afternoon transportation?
Send all transportation requests IN WRITING in the student's
daily folder.
Please indicate how your child will be getting home from school
on that particular day, and the name and contact number of
whomever will be picking the child up.
Can I send a special birthday snack to school?
Definitely! Please be sure to send enough for EACH student in
the classroom. The best options are cookies, cupcakes, or fruit
cups, as some choices get a bit messy and can interfere with
instructional time. If a celebration outside of school is
planned, I would be happy to send home invitations, as long as
there is one for each student in the class.
What are some of the ways I can volunteer in my child's class?
There will be many opportunities throughout the school year to
volunteer in the classroom. Weekly helpers such as: Fun Friday
helpers and weekly parent readers are available, as well as field
trip chaperones.
