Merry Christmas

Joyeux Noel et Bonne Annee
December is an exciting month where we are able to work with real world
events that affect us all. We will discuss the purposes and customs of
various cultural holidays while exploring similarities and differences.
In Phonics we will continue to work on “Vowel Valley” with the sounds of
short I, and short E. The children will use their Picture Dictionary to
construct their sentences. Remind your child about punctuation and starting
sentences off with a capital letter. We will be writing our persuasive ideas
all month.
We are reading, reading, and reading! WE ARE ON THE FIFTH STORY IN THEIR PRE-
PRIMER BOOK:) I am so proud of them. The spelling test is on Fridays!! We
will practice at school. It will be successful.
In Math, we are still adding working on numerals 1-50, counting by 10’s, 5’s
and 2’s, ordinal numbers, and exploring the calculator. Please review
numbers 0-20(writing), counting backward 20-0, telling time to the hour and
identifying coins.
December 10th, class eats of Chick Fil-A and we make
Gingerbread Houses at noon
December 17th – class party 11:30
December 13th – New Campus Open House – 4:00
Sincerely,
Lana Eden
