I am one of those people who feel very blessed to be in a profession that I
absolutely love. This is my seventh year teaching first grade and my fifth
year here at Sarah Smith. I'm fortunate to be at a school as great as this
one!
I am orginally from Birmingham, Alabama and lived there until I was 12 years
old. From Birmingham, my family moved to Park City, Utah. I absolutely
loved growing up in the snow! I enjoy skiing but the summers have become my
favorite time of year there. After highschool, I grew to miss the south so
I came back to the University of Alabama for college. I graduated from
Alabama in 2003 in early childhood education. I moved to Atlanta with some
friends from college. I've been here for 6 years now and still love it!
The mission for my class is to promote a safe, nurturing environment. I
want all of my students to feel good about themselves both in the classroom
and outside of school. I want to create critical thinkers who enjoy coming
to school and learning. My goal is for my classroom to be a safe learning
environment where the students will grow in their self confidence and expand
their knowledge.
