An outstanding resource for parents is to try to understand why
children behave the way they do. To try to do this parents should always
ask themselves, "What are their goals?" If your child's goal is 1)challenge
the positive approach is safe adventures and the negative approach is thrill-
seeking. If it is 2)withdrawal the positive approach is appropriate
avoidance and the negative approach is undue avoidance. If it is 3)
protection the positive approach is assertiveness/forgiveness and the
negative approach is revenge. If it is 4)power the positive approach is
independence and the negative approach is rebellion. Lastly, if it is 5)
contact/belonging the positive approach is contributing/cooperating and the
negative approach is undue attention-seeking. MY SOURCE ON THIS IS DR.

Another outstanding resource as far as an educational web site is concerned
is
www.nettrekker.com. Please look for additional information about this
resource from your child's classroom teacher.
Below is information from Intervention Central which is a great source for
finding resources. You should be able to open each item from this page,
however, you can also visit this website for information. You can obtain
interventions from www.interventioncentral.org which has interventions
listed in a variety of areas.
