NAME:

SCHOOL:
Sarah Smith Elementary
CLASS:
3rd Grade
I am so delighted to be with such a wonderful school!! This year will be
filled with fun and learning.
About me:
I have lived in Atlanta for six years. I was born in Albuquerque, New
Mexico, and then moved to and grew up in Brighton, Michigan.
I attended Michigan State University where I completed a Bachelor of Arts
degree in Elementary Education with minors in English and Communications.
Shortly after, I received my Masters of Arts degree in Instruction from
Central Michigan University.
I have taught first grade, third/fourth grade multiage, and third grade
before moving to Sarah Smith. I have also served as a College English
Composition Instructor at Herzing College (at Lenox).
I am very excited to be teaching third grade again! This year will be a
great milestone for third grade students, and I am looking forward to
working with you and your child.
Elementary School is an astonishing period of growth for children. Children
are here to take responsibility for their learning. Their number one job in
school is to be a good learner. I encourage students to take chances and not
be afraid to be wrong. I stress that mistakes are a part of the learning
process, and we can only learn from them. I want students to focus on the
process of learning which will help facilitate the skills for becoming
life-long learners.
