Hello Sarah Smith Family! I am Ms. Marcy Simmons, one of the music teachers
at Sarah
Smith Primary. I have been a music educator for 15+ years, and have served in
the Atlanta Public School system for 14 of those glorious years. I have been
blessed to experience serving in a variety of communities and capacities
which have contributed to my professional growth as a music educator. I
recieved a BA degree in music/voice from Morris Brown College; a M.ED in
Curriculum and Instruction from Coppin State College and presently working
toward a Ph.D in Teacher Leadership from Walden University. I believe that
music is a CORE subject. Music is that sure connection that pulls all
subject matters together to help develop the whole child. I have made it my
life-long goal to assure that music enhances the lives of
those I teach by helping students to make meaningful connections that will
help them to develop as successful citizens in our global society.
