Each week you will find a "homework" packet in your child's red folder.  Homework is optional for kindergarten students, however the prepared activities reinforce the skills that are being taught in the classroom.  Your child's work should be returned by Friday of each week and it will be marked to reward their efforts.  Please remember to read with your child every night!

Other skills that you will want to continually practice are as follows:

• Writing name in proper upper and lower case
• Identifying the letters of the alphabet, shapes, and colors
• Identifying the days of the week and months of the year
• Practicing the phonics sounds learned
• Writing numbers 0-20
• Orally counting 0-100⁺, also by 1's, 2's, 5's, 10's
• Orally counting backwards from 20-0
• Idendifying number words
• Identifying coins
• Writing address and phone number
