Can I eat lunch with my kindergartner?
Of course you may join your child for lunch. Please wait until after Labor Day before joining your child. I believe it is so important for the children to connect with one another before we have visitors at lunch. Please do not bring fast food for your child to eat at lunch as it is unfair to the other children. Our lunch is served downstairs in the cafeteria from 11:40-12:10.Back to Top

What is the best way to communicate with Mrs. Campbell and the school daily?
Your child will bring home a folder daily. On one side of the folder you will find all important papers as well as any written work for the day. On the other side you will find a Daily Accomplishment Sheet. This sheet is designed to help you stay in touch with your child's behavior on a daily basis. Please make sure you review it each night, sign and return in their folder. Also please feel free to place any notes in their folder. I check my APS e-mail at least once a day, however my e-mail is not always reliable. Please know that if I have not repsonded to you within 24 hours please send a hard copy to school. Thank you for your understanding reagarding this matter.Back to Top
How can I help my child have a successful year in kindergarten?
The number one thing you can do to help support your child's learning is to READ, READ, READ to them every night!!! Please also reinforce the letters of the alphabet, the sounds those letters make as well as numbers 0- 10. Beginning in September, your child will recieve weekly homework. This homework is NOT required, however it will help support what is going on in the classroom. It is a great way for you to stay connceted to your child's learning and help reinforce what they are learning on a daily basis. You can also support their learning by collecting the materials requested at the beginning of each IB Unit. Support at home with these units helps ensures your child will get them most out of each IB Unit. Participation in home/school projects also help your child gain the most out of each learning experience.Back to Top

How can I celebrate my child's birthday at school?
I think birthdays are AWESOME and celebrating them is a must. I prefer to celebrate birthdays at the end of the school day. Once our schedule has been created I will let you know the exact time. You are welcome to bring a treat and drink, individual juice boxes work best, for each child in our room. Please make sure the treat is precut or in individual pieces as time is always a factor. Whenever possible I enjoy celebrating birthdays on the actual day or as close to it as possible. As far a summer birthdays we celebrate the 1/2 birthday instead. Please let me know if you have any questions concerning birthdays.Back to Top
