KINDERGARTEN NEWS: WE HAD ANOTHER WONDERFUL WEEK IN KINDERGARTEN!! Mrs. Brown and I want to wish everyone the happiest of holidays. Thank you so much for the love and support you have shown our classroom. We are truly blessed to have each of you in our lives. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! Mrs. Brown and I want to thank everyone for our wonderful class gift and all our Christmas goodies. We can't wait to treat ourselves to something special. Thank you for remembering us during this special holiday season. THE HOLIDAY PARTY WAS A HUGE HIT!! A very special thank you to Liz Mastrion for organizing everything and ordering our pizzas, to Susan Banner for the craft project and to Aileen Harris for the paper products. Thank you for helping us make our holiday party so fun!! WE DID IT!! We are all packed and moved out of the Annex. We will certainly miss that wonderful special place but are VERY EXCITED to begin our next adventure in our new home at the Primary Campus. PLEASE STOP BY ON TUESDAY, 1/5, BETWEEN 10-12 TO CHECK OUT OUR NEW ROOM!! Hope to see everyone there! A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU TO ALL OF THOSE WHO HELPED US PACK AND ORGANIZE!! Please make sure all books are labeled so they can be returned at the end of the month! We had a great time with Katie's mom, Susannah Balish, who stopped by to decorate holiday cookies with us during Fun Friday. We were also treated to some of Trey's favorite books when his daddy, Neil Pruitt, stopped by for Parent Reader. We are looking forward to our next Fun Friday Parent and Parent Reader stopping by after we return from Winter Break! This week in kindergarten math we will create addition & subtraction problems with our partners on slate boards, play "What's My Attribute?", practice writing 2 digit numbers and play number BINGO as well as "Top-It" with partners on Friday. In writing we will be responding to various types of literature and creating lists. We will continue our Lucy Caulkins series in January. We will also write another persuasive piece based on the Mo Willems' Pigeon series. We completed our IB Unit: "What Does It Represent?" with the presentation of our American Symbols Projects. The projects look awesome and the children did an amazing job sharing their projects. Thank you so much for all your support. This week we will discuss Chanukah, Christmas, and Kwanza. We will be continue with "Vowel Valley" in phonics this week. Our sound of the week is "a" as in apple. The Red Words for the week are is, his, as , & has.
