Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund

The Japan Fulbright Memorial Fund (JFMF)  is a program that provides professional development to American educators in the form of a three week intense study of the Japanese culture and school systems. By participating in the program, I was able to visit Japanese schools, speak with government officials, and share experiences with Japanese teachers. It was an opportunity to learn about the customs, traditions as well as the educational and economic challenges facing Japan. The global collaboration was an experience that I hope all educators can be apart of in the future.

Please visit the following website, www.mighty55.com/petrello, to find resources to assist teachers in better understanding the Japanese culture as well as incorporate Japan and other international studies into the curriculum.
