In an effort to ensure a smooth transition, I am outlining a few things to know that will assist us in our transition to the new Sarah Smith Primary Campus. The district’s technology team will disconnect all technology and technology related devices December16th at the Kindergarten Campus. Teachers will not have access to their school emails during the school day on December 17th and 18th. During this time, you may only contact your child’s teacher by school phone or written note should the need arise. Students’ medication and clinic records will be transferred by the school nurse. Open House for the kindergarten families will take place January 5, 2010; from 10:00am until 12:00pm at the Primary Campus, Kindergarten only. This will allow students and parents the opportunity to find their classrooms prior to returning to school Wednesday, January 6th. It is important for our kindergartners to learn their carpool number before arriving to the Primary Campus. Once on the Primary Campus, carpoolers will be called by their carpool number during afternoon dismissal. If you are unsure of the number, you may contact Ms. Bobbie Martin, Kindergarten Secretary to get that information. Carpool is directly in front of the Primary Campus building. It is the cul-de-sac (circle) that leads into the building. There should be very little change in the times students are picked up and dropped off in the morning and/or afternoons for students riding the school buses. Please help us with teaching our students their PIN numbers for lunch. Knowing the PIN numbers will help the lunch lines move quickly at the Primary Campus. Please know that we are committed to making sure that both campuses are ready to receive students on the first day back to school.
